Hi again the familiar sounds. The ‘kot-ket’ sound of bed shaking, the ‘tug’ sound of plugs being turned, the ‘pumm’ sound of walking, the ‘xiii’ sound of someone blowing his noses, the sound of someone talking over phone, the laughs, the sound of door hitting the wall. You guys have been around, on and off. Every time of receiving is every time of interpreting whether my neighbor is around and what she is doing. There are days the sounds are double, which tells me my neighbor is bringing someone home. Rarely the sounds are light, gentle and subtle.

Sound is a flow of life, no sound means death. Sometimes, these sounds are out of tiredness, sometimes, they are from excitement. Yet many times, they are noises. They are never invited, they just come but they come and go, they never last. They speak of object collision and of human’s activities. Noises mean life but life should not mean noises. Why is there noise? Do all objects have soul and sound is a result of souls communicating to each other?

Noise also means reaction. I remember my mom told me when I was just born, I had not cried at all and that scared them to death because that could imply that I were not alive or something was wrong or I was not healthy. However, there are moments when noise is a form of expression and it is usually negative this way. Noise of people yelling at each other, noise of objects being broken, noise of crying out of angriness.

Sound is also a way of music and music most of time can be enjoyable. Sound in this case is a form of entertaining and of endless creativity. Sound here is to invoke emotions under certain intention of the artist. Sound now is condensed under the notes, up and down, low and high, slow and fast. Sound can be to recreate life with some imagination.

Regardless, we cannot describe sound but to feel it with all senses. Sound has a lot in it that our language cannot keep up with. Sound can also be very abstract and can be interpreted in different ways. Let’s just take sound by what it is and treasure it by how it is.
